Aims and Objectives The advanced course is designed to train suitable candidates to the objectives approved by CISRS in the safe erection, alteration and dismantling of the following types of advanced scaffold:

By the end of the course:
The scaffolder will be able to interpret scaffold drawings
The scaffolder will be able, as a member of a team, to erect, alter and dismantle the following scaffolds safely and in their correct sequence (see course content below)
The scaffolder will understand the procedures for producing, interpreting and using risk assessments and method statements
The scaffolder will be able to erect scaffold structures in accordance with current regulations including TG20:13 and SG4:15
The scaffolder will have a better understanding of team leadership techniques, how to best deal with other trades and site supervisors/managers


Pre-Requisites Scaffolders must have a minimum of 12 months practical experience of scaffolding operations since attaining their CISRS Scaffolder card. We will require a copy of their CISRS Scaffolders card (or registration number) for verification purposes prior to the candidate booking their advanced course.

Literacy and language comprehension are important requirements on all courses. Any physical impairment or literacy issues should be discussed with LTC Training Services prior to making a booking so we can best accommodate your needs.

•Tubular drop scaffold from steelwork (theory and practical) 
•Cantilever drop scaffold (theory and practical) 
•3 cord raking shore (theory and practical) 
•Dead shore (theory and practical) 
•Flying shore (theory only) 
•Temporary roof scaffold (theory and practical) 
•Stairways (theory and practical)
•Ramps (theory and practical)
•Risk assessment 
•Method statements 
•Testing of ties (TG4:19) 
•50 question test paper (includes intermediate test at the end of the 1st week) 
Who will benefit from this course The law requires that any individual wishing to erect, alter or dismantle scaffolding must be able to prove their competency. The industry-wide accepted proof of competency for operatives is to hold a CISRS scaffolder or CISRS Advanced Scaffolder card.

To be eligible to apply for a CISRS Advanced Scaffolder card, candidates must have held a CISRS Scaffolder card for a minimum of 12 months and then successfully complete the following 3 elements of training; 

1.CISRS Advanced Scaffolding course
2.Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Accessing Operations and Rigging (Construction) Scaffolding and Offshore Scaffolding.
(Minimum of 6 months Scaffold experience since completion of the advanced course)  
3.CISRS 2 Day Skills Assessment

The CISRS advanced scaffolding course is aimed at scaffolders who have already attained their CISRS Scaffolder card and have gained a further 12 months practical experience of scaffolding operations since receiving their card.

Please note that candidates must attend and successfully complete the CISRS 2 day Skills Assessment and Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Accessing Operations and Rigging (Construction) Scaffolding and Offshore Scaffolding, prior to obtaining the CISRS advanced scaffolder card – all of which can be completed at LTC Training Services. 
 

Email - Please Note Please note: You must provide proof that you have held a CISRS Scaffolder card for at least 12 months before we can allow you to commence Advanced training. (Unless your previous training was completed with LTC Training Services in which case we will hold a copy of your certificates on record)

Please ensure you read the attached course information carefully (Including details of the equipment candidates are required to bring, what content is covered during the course and details of all 3 elements of training that candidates must complete before they can apply for their CISRS Advanced Scaffolder Card (i.e. 2 week Advanced Course, NVQ Diploma Level 3 and 2 Day Skills Assessment) 

NVQ Level 3 Portfolio - It is not compulsory but we highly recommend that trainees pay a £300 non-refundable deposit towards their NVQ Level 3 when attending their Advanced course). This enables us to issue trainees with their blank portfolio whilst they are here (on Advanced course). The remaining balance must be paid before any further work can be completed by us The NVQ must be completed & signed off before candidates can book & attend their CISRS Skills Assessments. This will be discussed on the first day of training so no decision has to be made as yet.

Equipment:
You will be required to bring the following PPE;
  • Hard hat
  • Gloves
  • Safety boots 
  • Hi-viz
PLEASE NOTE: LTC Training Services are unable to supply safety boots, in the case that you do not bring safety boots, we can sell them at £20.00 + VAT
